Fabric of the Universe

Modern quantum physics suggests that 
uncertainty is woven into 
the fabric of the universe. 
Each of us reflects the 
wholeness of all that is. 
Can't be certain 
we'll be here tomorrow.  
Statistically, chances are good 
for being correct when saying, 
"See you tomorrow morning." 
That's not absolutely determined. 
So be humble. 
Nothing is certain - 
not even death and taxes.

Looking For Moment Of Stillness

Word of God

Many of us can’t believe in God. 

The word of God is not 

what we “think” it is. 

God’s “words” are felt directly. 

If we use human words, 

the meaning is lost

 in human thoughts. 

In truth there are no words,

only a feeling of presence.

Be silent and know.

Resting in the present

“Resting in the present” is the same as saying “resting in God”.

God is the Presence in the present moment –
the luminosity sustaining our vision of self and world.

More we cannot ask.

The Inbetween

I have heard and read that Tibetan Buddhists believe that upon death the body’s spirit goes to an in-between state called the bardo. This is a period after death when consciousness is disconnected from the body. The soul’s disembodied state while awaiting rebirth. It is a time of potentially frightening visions. Eventually the spirit or consciousness finds a body to enter - rebirth occurs. A new incarnation that may reflect the development and lessons learned in previous lifetimes.

   Even within our current embodied lives we experience mini-bardo states such as being between jobs, between morning and afternoon, between life partners, between home and workplace, etc.

   These in-between places give us deep insights into reality.

Uncertainty

Beyond Understanding

Deep reality is beyond our understanding. Physics may never be complete. Some mystery could always remain. Who are we? Why are we here? What is our destiny? Religions and philosophies struggle to satisfy us. Let's not get too optimistic. We're built for life with mystery.

Quantum Ejection

Last night I dreamed
   of a wildly beautiful
   sunset against a view
   of the Golden Gate Bridge
   though the window

As the sun went down
   I saw pulses of golden
   light rise from the horizon.
   So amazing that I was 
   calling friends on the
   phone to have them
   look.
   The pulses 
   of golden light sometimes
   stopped and then started
   again. 

After a few episodes of
   quantum ejection of
   light at the horizon,
   I noticed bright streams
   of particles coming up
   I felt joy and love

LOVER SIT STILL AND WAIT

Lover sit still and wait;
Whom thou desirest will come.
Being alone is not lonely
And how wilt thou receive Truth
If thou are not alone?
Waiting is for preparing,
Watching with longing is sweet;
And when the Self is seen,
This will end,
And thou thyself will be lost in Love...

A Glimpse

Sometimes
in the middle of the night
or in the daytime
when all is quiet
including the mind
Comes
a glimpse of immortality
between in breath and out breath
between thought and vision
A field of light and love
endless, deep, safe, eternal
Always here
just a breath away

A mystic moment

Today.

Nothing to prove.

Standing just as human.

Living, spontaneously from center.

Listening for God's voice within.

And, what is "God"? Not a word.

It's reality, the sense of truth

opening to the unlimited.

Unspeakable, it is.

These two passages from the Bible are a joy to contemplate. For me, they connect ancient Bible teachings with meditation practices. -AA

1 Kings 19:11-13 (New International Version)

¹¹ The LORD said, "Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the LORD, for the LORD is about to pass by."
Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. ¹² After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. ¹³When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave.

Simplicity Now

Meditation can bring the mind to
utter simplicity. Being quiet within is
the ground of simplicity - even
when we have to perform
action in the world.

"All is one"; "feeling the
oneness of all things". Such
expressions are absolutely true.
It's as if you are
at the end of a great
journey - and you come to
a place where you can
absolutely rest in peace;
and all your desires are
fulfilled. You are here; and
that's enough. That's all
there is. That is it.
All is one. Peace. Peace.
Now - extending to
the "next" movement,
the moment no longer in time - so it's
only just this external, eternal moment.
Being mindful of all that
is. Which is just this.
All is one. Simple. Easy.
Ah! Yes! Here! Here
now and forever

"as it was in the
beginning is now
and forever"
